Does Hemp Oil Make You High? Here’s the Answer
It is amazing how many different ailments have been treated by CBD oil and other hemp and CBD products. But what’s even more incredible is that so many people are under the misconception that hemp is the same thing as marijuana and since marijuana is illegal in so many places, hemp isn’t thought of as an acceptable medical treatment (nor for any number of other applications). It’s a shame, because hemp oil and CBD oil contain many good fats that our bodies need. But does hemp oil make you high?
Hemp and Marijuana are not the same
Cannabis is composed of marijuana (which gets you high) and hemp (which does not). They are kind of sister plants. Hemp is an ancient plant with many applications, such as clothing, paper, and even food. CBD oil may be one of the most important products of hemp, however. CBD oil, otherwise known as cannabidiol, is a product of the hemp plant with which many human conditions can be treated.
Marijuana, on the other hand, is recreationally smoked or eaten because it contains tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, the psychotropic ingredient that gives you that feeling of mellow happiness. It’s also been used for conditions such as depression, headaches, and even cancer.
At one time, hemp was barred from being grown in the United States, even though people sought it after realizing hemp oil’s benefits. Some who grew marijuana decided to call it hemp oil, but that would definitely make you high. There is actually THC in the CBD oil derived from both hemp and from marijuana, so one would need to be careful as to the source of the CBD oil. So does hemp oil make you high? In that case, yes.
Would You Test Positive with Hemp/CBD oil In Your System?
If you’re using the hemp version of CBD oil, could you test positive on a drug test? Hemp oil with CBD does still contain a bit of THC, but not enough to make you test positive. If you took a lot of CBD oil, it may be possible for it to show up in a blood or urine test. If you’re worried and you have a lot at stake, it’s better that you don’t take CBD or hemp oil before a test.
